Live Stream Troubleshooting

I can’t see the live stream! What do I do?

First, make sure you are watching during one of the scheduled live stream time windows.
Our regularly scheduled webcasts are:
1. Every Wednesday at Noon, Central Time and
2. The 3rd Sunday of every month at 3:00pm, Central Time.

If you get an error message during one of these webcast times, our site may not have correctly detected the type of computer or device you are using and directed you to the correct stream. Try clicking on one of the other links for Apple, Windows, or Android devices. If that doesn't help, see the additional information below.

For computers and laptops:
Is Adobe Flash Player installed? If not:
-> Visit this page: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
-> Follow the installation prompts
-> Reload the live stream page

If the stream still doesn’t work, try updating your web browser or download a different one.
-> We recommend Google Chrome.
-> It’s a free download at http://www.google.com/chrome

If the stream still doesn’t work after installing Flash and trying Google Chrome, please try viewing the stream on our backup page: Webcast Backup Page

For iPhones and iPads:
-> If you see a link labelled “Watch this stream on: iPhone or iPad”, click it.
-> If you still have trouble, try viewing from our backup page: Webcast Backup Page

For Android phones and tablets:
-> If you see a link labelled “Watch this stream on: Android Phone”, click it.
-> If this doesn’t work, download the VPlayer app from the Android app store and then re-load the page.
-> If you still have trouble, try viewing from our backup page: Webcast Backup Page

Other factors may be problems with your router, the connection from it to your computer or device, hardware and/or software issues, including graphics drivers, anti-virus software, firewalls, and browser plug-ins.

If you have taken the steps above, and still can’t view the stream, try these additional options:
-> Reboot your computer
-> Reload the streaming page
-> Check your internet connection (Cables plugged in? Wifi signal strong?)
-> Clear the history and cache in your browser

If you still are having trouble, please email bbmoffice@prayermtn.org with specific details about the device and browser you are using, what happened, and any error messages you received.

I am trying to watch an archive and it’s not playing right.

Follow the same troubleshooting steps that are outlined for the live stream question above.

The live stream keeps skipping and buffering.

There are a vast number of things that can cause delays in streaming video but in most cases, it is an issue with the speed of your Internet connection. Check whether other devices are also using your internet connection, which will slow your performance. Even if your connection is fast enough, your ISP may have “traffic shaping” policies for peak hours. Check with your internet provider about how to check your connection speed and if they have steps you can take to improve it.

I get a message that I can’t play the stream because I don’t have Flash player installed.

You can download and install the Flash player for free on any Windows or Mac computer. Use this link: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

If you get this message and you are using an iPhone, iPad or Android device, look for an iPhone or Android link on the page. If you see one, you can load the stream by touching that link.

If you get this message and you are using a Mac or other personal computer and have Flash Player installed, try clicking on the iPhone/iPad or Android links to play the stream.

If you still are having trouble, please email bbmoffice@prayermtn.org with specific details about the device and browser you are using, what happened, and any error messages you received.

Note: Because of the remote location of Prayer Mountain in the Ozarks we occasionally have internet service issues that can interrupt the LIVE stream. If the stream will not come up or goes off during the webcast and you have tried all the trouble-shooting steps outlined here, please let us know by email or by calling our office at (417) 336-4877. We appreciate your understanding and your prayers for all the technical aspects involved in producing the webcast each week.
