From The Parsonage

On September 28, I returned a call to Dr. Paul House PhD., DD., MD.
He had called me concerning our mutual friend Gary Wood’s returning to Heaven. Gary made his second trip and permanent move to Heaven this summer. Dr. House was hospitalized himself at the time and was asking me for details of Gary’s homegoing.

He identified himself as the medical doctor who many years ago set out to prove Gary a fraud. The story and Dr. House’s affidavit is in Gary’s book, A Place Called Heaven. In the course of his investigation that included hospital records, he ended up proving that Gary had undeniable proof that in 1966 he was actually dead 61 minutes, and that it was medically impossible for Gary to talk, sing, or drink water, even though he did all those things. For Gary had no larynx.

You can read all this in Gary’s book. But what I was so impressed with was what Dr. House told me about Gary during the time Dr. House was confronting him and going about to prove him an untruthful man.

Dr. House said, “He was so patient with me. He was never rude in any way.”

Dr. House and Gary became fast friends for a long time. Dr. House talked about the things he had seen and experienced through Gary. He said, “He had a genuine ministry.”

In looking back, I remember Gary just like Dr. House described. Always courteous. Joyful. Always exemplifying divine love.

Dr. House emphasized that even when the doctor in him was skeptical and playing the devil’s advocate, Gary was courteous and kind. Dr. House said that even before he had the medical proof, he was affected by the love Gary showed him. And he later experienced miracles of healing through Gary’s ministry.

May that quality of divine love be exhibited in all of us. For as 1 Corinthians 13 points out, Love does not notice a suffered wrong. It is only then that we can be conduits of His power.

My grandchildren who are in the ministry often telephoned “Papa Gary” for counsel and just to hear his voice. Gary always took time for them.
I see it now in their ministries.

Branden and Destinie Brim are honored to have been asked to speak at Reverend John and Deb Davis’ Branson Revival at the Radisson Hotel, October 8 at 7:00 pm. For more information call: 417-343-9410.

Through this young couple, the Lord has demonstrated His love and His power. They have recently come from ministering in Mexico City, and they are on their way after Autumn Assembly to France and the UK.

I plan on attending Sunday night so hope to see you there.

I copied the following from John Davis’ website. Read it and you will understand his call to what he calls The Branson Revival.

John Davis, An Ambassador of Revival

Evangelist John Davis has traveled the nations for over 40 years in revival ministry. Most recently, he traveled as the Ambassador for the Pensacola Outpouring. The “Pensacola Outpouring” began at the Brownsville Assembly of God Church in Pensacola, FL on Fathers’ Day 1995. More than four million people from all around the world have attended with over three hundred thousand conversions.

Love in Him,
