Dear Partners and Friends,
We have had such insightful teachings at our Sunday prayer. So for this partner letter I especially wanted to impart to you some of the nuggets that have come our way. The following is what Billye Brim shared with the pray-ers one lovely spring afternoon about Grace Roos and her teachings. I kept it in the first person to give it as it was delivered that day. I want you to get the spirit of it. I personally remember when we first received Grace's books from her husband Carl. Betty Oaks, who started the BBM tape department, had the books printed in larger quantities. As Carl gave these precious writings into our keeping, he told us then that Grace's teachings were for the last days before Jesus comes. No doubt, they are very timely!

I am going to talk to you today about somebody else, Grace Roos. Grace was a prayer warrior. She gathered 300 people from all over the world, and called them her Gideon's Army. From an abundance of revelation, she wrote regular prayer letters to them. I met Grace in the early '80s. I went to preach in Lufkin, Texas, and she and her husband Carl came. They were mature saints at that time. In church that day, a man from Brazil was baptized in the Holy Ghost. Grace was so thrilled about it that after church, when the crowd had left, she came up on the platform and danced all over it. She knew the man had been seeking the Holy Ghost for 25 years. Right from the beginning, I just loved Carl and Grace Roos.
Their Lives of Faith
When Carl was 25 and a successful electrical engineer, he had a brain tumor. (They later became ministers and pastors.) The Lord said to him, "If you will live for Me like the Word says, and only the Word, I will heal this brain tumor, and I will give you the blessings of Job in his last days."
So they did it! Grace and Carl Roos lived with only the Bible as their guide and the Lord as their healer. The pastor in Lufkin told me that once Brother Roos got an ugly cancerous looking growth on his face. He claimed his healing according to the Word of God and did not go to the doctor. The whole town watched as the thing grew larger and larger. Then one day it fell off.
Some of the Roos’ sons and their families attend our autumn prayer conference. The Roos brothers told me, how in growing up, they could take no medicines—nothing at all, and how they always had healings.
Grace's Home-Going
I was preaching in Mississippi and into the sanctuary came Carl with his son who had brought him. Carl was visibly angry. Small of stature, well dressed and with his white flattop hair cut, my first impression was that he was so "cute," even though he was so evidently upset. To my surprise he told me that he was mad at God. He was angry because Grace had told the Lord she wanted to go home (Heaven), and He let her. This is what he told me, as well as I remember.
Grace had heard Marilyn Hickey preach "1983, Your Year of Jubilee." She told Carl that no one can have a real Jubilee unless they are in the presence of the Lord.
"I believe I'll take my Jubilee," she told Carl. "I'm going to go on home. I've finished my work. I've talked to the Lord about it. My work is complete. We know we don't have to be sick to die. So I'm going to go home." And she picked a date.
Carl was beside himself. He told the Lord, that he wanted to go on home, too.
"You can't, Carl."
"Why not?"
"I promised you all the blessings Job had in his last days. I can't let you come home, because My promise to you has not been fulfilled. You haven't seen as many generations as Job saw."
God had given them the same children as Job, seven sons and three daughters. Then He gave them an extra daughter who they told me was a blessing to them. Yet God would not agree to Carl's coming home without seeing His promise to him fulfilled.
So, Carl began to beg Grace not to go. But she was determined. She'd picked a date, however, she agreed to wait one week more.
When the date came, Carl said, "Lord, what shall I do?"
He was impressed to just do the things he always did.
He always went to the Post Office. So he walked to the Post Office, got the mail, and walked back home. He was so nervous. I don't remember every detail here, but Grace did as she said she would. She departed earth for heaven, just as she had planned.
Now, I want to share with you pray-ers from one of Grace's great books. You need this information. Because when you start moving in prayer in the realm of the spirit, the enemy is afraid of your power in prayer and he will try to deceive you. You have to know the difference between the Voice of God and the enemy's deception. So the following is from Grace's wonderful book, Spiritual Warfare:
Try the Spirits
by Grace Ryerson Roos
We are living in great and terrible days: great in that God is revealing Himself and His purposes for the Last Days, giving us greater understanding than ever before—but terrible from the standpoint of what many of GOD'S SONS-IN-THE-MAKING are going through. Reports come from many that Satan is attacking them with a ferocity they have never experienced before [one in particular, a missionary in Brazil]. Such clouds of darkness, delusions, condemnations, attacks upon mind and body! In some cases he seeks to break down the body and then he attacks the mind….
This is the day of DECEIVING SPIRITS: a day to "believe NOT every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” (1 John 4:1). 1 Corinthians 2:15 also declares, "But he that is spir- itual judgeth all things."
There is a new subtlety in the way Satan comes in on forbidden ground deceiving many by using the same "wavelength" on which they are in the habit of hearing from God. He is the arch deceiver and cunning. If one is not aware, we will receive what he says as from the Lord, and no marvel: "for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" (2 Cor. 11:14).
Are you in such an experience now? Are you fighting these demon hordes and holding your ground by stark faith with nothing else? Do not be discouraged or deceived. God, no doubt, is permitting these attacks to acquaint us with the ways of the enemy, and also having come through such darkness and despair, we realize afresh how complete is the victory of Calvary. God wants us to know that we are not Satan's victims but his VICTORS!
Here is another testimony: “I wakened in the night and heard a voice say, ‘If you will fast for B., I will hear.’ Used to having the Lord speak in this manner, I agreed. I fasted three days, but when I tried to break my fast some constraining power held me back. I lived on fruit juices only for the next three weeks, not daring to eat. I was very weary, a heaviness settled over my spirit, a darkness pressed on my mind. I was disturbed, restless. Nights were filled with voices of condemnation and miserable dreams. Everything about me was wrong it seemed. Despair filled my being…. I, who had never doubted but what Heaven was my home, under the oppression of the enemy lost sight of truths that had been as clear as crystal. All my former walk with God seemed to have gone down the drain…. Finally, in desperation, I took someone in my confidence. Together we reasoned and prayed and sought the face of God. Having support, strong spiritual support at this time was heaven-sent. God came on the scene and thrusting into my hand a huge whip, command- ed me, ‘Beat him with it!’ I did, heartily. He retreated only to come back again, but not as boldly. I held my ground, chastising my enemies with the Blood of Jesus, and they finally had to give place and flee. Peace was restored, and I knew it had all been a terrible delusion of Satan. He had deceived me into fasting in the first place, with the purpose of breaking me down physically, so his attack on my mind would have greater results. Satan is endeavoring more than ever to deceive those set to do God's will. I will not be easily deceived again.”
Beware of this deceiver who presents himself as "an angel of light," imitating the ways of the Lord, seeking to copy His voice and His manner of speaking to us. Be on the alert, WATCHING and praying! "For we are not ignorant of his (Satan's) devices" (2 Cor.2:11).
"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8b). And they overcame him (Satan) by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony" (Rev.12:11).
We do not defeat Satan; Jesus did that! We only enforce his defeat, pointing him to it, holding him to it, refusing to be moved from our position of victory given us by faith. Colossians 2:14- 15 tells us, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."
While passing through a terrible spiritual conflict some years ago, God…gave me a vision. I saw a man open my front door and walk in. He looked like he had come through a terrific storm. His collar had been pulled up to protect his neck and his felt hat was pulled down securely on his head. He carried a brief case in his hand. He had all the appearance of a lawyer. He walked quickly to me and dropping down on one knee beside my chair, he removed his hat and then looking straight into my eyes, said, "I have come to give thee counsel." My heart quickened with expectation. Continuing he said earnestly, "BIND THE POWER OF SATAN TO DECEIVE YOU." And with that he was gone.
That is our need today. "Bind the power of the enemy to deceive you." Satan realizes his time is short. He is seeking to sabotage the work of God and the saints. The dictionary defines sabotage as "malicious injury to work, tools, etc., or any underhand interference with production or business, as by enemy agents during wartime." Certainly this describes his efforts today. He uses deception, false accusations, spirits of condemnation, clever imitations of the work and the voice of the Spirit, and so on, to halt and undermine the work and growth of the Spirit in you. REFUSE TO BE DECEIVED. TRY THE SPIRITS WHETHER THEY ARE OF GOD! "Be sober, be vigilant:
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith" (1 Peter 5:8-9).
Recently, in Australia I spoke to a youth group ages 13 to 18. The Lord gave me the teaching and the title, Visions and Voices. It was based on the premise that the young will see visions and can hear the voice of God. These things will now increase. And it is necessary to judge where a vision or a voice is coming from. I told the youth what I do. When a thought, voice, or manifestation comes, I ask, "Do you confess Jesus Christ come in the flesh?" If the source is the Lord, He will always answer and continue. If it is not the Lord, all manifestation stops. (See I John 4:1-4).
Grace Roos' books are so full of timely revelation and instruction. We are making a package of them for you and yours.
Love in Him,
Billye Brim
