Shelli and I arrived on Friday, March 28, Shabbat.
First impression at the relatively new airport in Tel Aviv: Wow! This thing is huge! Much too big for the present traffic. Must be getting ready for the masses of Jews to come home one day. Nothing like being prepared.
Shabbat at Yam HaMelach (Yam means Sea. Melach means Salt. ) The Bible calls this place the Salt Sea. The world mainly calls it the Dead Sea. That’s because the salt kills living organisms. But, guess what! This place, like the whole of this Holy Land is destined by the prophetic Word of the Lord to show forth His glory. Waters will flow out from beneath the Millennial Temple down through the Judean wilderness and into the Salt Sea bringing life everywhere they go. This place will be a fishing hot spot. (See Ezekiel 47.)
It is so exciting to be here knowing what the Scriptures promise. But it’s also sad too. How’s that you say?
Well, it’s sad to see our country’s top leaders moving with such a heavy hand against the revealed will of the Lord. Condoleeza Rice is here. Here’s a little synopsis of what’s happening.
Jerusalem Post Lead Article – Friday, March 28 “Defense Minister Ehud Barak has warned the US that gestures Israel is making to the Palestinians – including approving the transfer to the Palestinian Authority of weapons and armored vehicles, and allowing the deployment of PA policemen in West Bank cities could ultimately backfire because Hamas could come to power in the West Bank and be better equipped to turn on Israel…We need to keep in mind the possibility that after all we have done, Hamas will take over the West Bank, not only by force but even in the upcoming general elections.” Barak plans to present the list of gestures to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.”
She came. She saw. She made moves to conquer. Condoleeza strong armed Israel to make the gestures Barak spoke of. They are to remove 50 roadblocks. It is at these roadblocks that vehicles are checked for bombs, etc. which are frequently found. She wants 700 Palestinian Authority soldiers stationed on the West Bank (Biblical Judea and Samaria). I am quoting you the following from today’s Jerusalem Post:
Jerusalem Post – Monday, March 31, 2008
…Rice believes that a framework for an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians could be reached by the planned May 14 visit to Israel of US President Bush…Rice told Barak and reiterated later to American reporters accompanying her that she would be more vigilant in monitoring Israel’s implementation of its commitments than she had been in the past….”Even as we move toward the establishment of a [Palestinian] state.
” She left three U.S. Generals with the task of seeing that things are carried out. Their pictures are on the front page of the Post with the head: MEET THE GENERALS, Rice enlists heavy brass to help her outflank Barak..
Jerusalem Post (cont) …The opposition leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, was to meet with Rice for 15 minutes. It turned into an hour. He said, “I brought her information from security officials and intelligence indicating that Hamas could take over the West Bank and create what is essentially an Iranian base.” Netanyahu said he told Rice that if a declaration of principles were signed with the Palestinians on the basis of dividing Jerusalem and returning to pre-1967 borders, the Likud and the people of Israel would not accept it.
Weather at Home
Lynne Hammond just called me. (3 pm Minneapolis time.) She said Minneapolis is getting hit with a complete white out snow storm. Cody Oaks, Shelli’s son called at the same time. He’s in Fort Worth. There is a string of severe storms up the entire middle of the U.S. A storm is hitting the West Coast. This violent weather, I believe, may be connected to the strong arm tactics of the U.S. and the ultimate pressure to divide Jerusalem. Is God doing it? No! The U.S.’s own actions are shooting holes in the Choopah of blessing which has covered this country as we have blessed Israel. The prince of the power of the air (Satan) is ever ready to come through with storms when the U.S. has moved in a direction opposite to God’s revealed will. Tomorrow to the West Bank:
Tomorrow morning we leave to go to Ariel, the capital city of the so-called West Bank. There we will hear what the residents themselves have to say about what is happening. Mayor Ron Nachman will speak to our group on Wednesday. What a time to be in Israel. We believe our footsteps are ordered by the Lord. We’ll keep you posted. Please pray for our country and its leaders – that these horrible mistakes toward Israel will cease. We’ll be going to Alon Moreh where the LORD appeared to Abraham and Promised this Land to Him. There we will have an intense prayer concerning all this.
Love in Him, Billye Brim
